What did we learn? Besides moving online, it’s a lot of ‘hand holding’ and emotional support. Although tutors continue their work in the online space (even on Sundays), some have been facing a lack of resources at home. While the uncertainty remains, let’s keep reflecting on equality and inclusivity in the writing center space.

Summer Graduate Writing Camps: Transitioning to an Online Modality and Expanding Support for Graduate Students
Our online camp provided a resource for a much larger audience than anticipated. Over 450 graduate students participated in the camp, which had enrolled 55 the previous summer.
Connection During COVID-19: Our Experience Facilitating a Virtual Dissertation Writing Camp
While the pandemic amplified the already-isolating experience of dissertating, the online camp facilitated connection. As the week unfurled, we found ourselves surprised at the heightened desire for connectivity that writers expressed.
