The National Conference on Peer Tutoring in Writing has honored leaders involved in writing center mentoring each year since 1997, when Ron Maxwell was presented with an award for his support of peer tutors, his encouragement of collaborative learning, and his leadership in the National Conference on Peer Tutoring in Writing. A couple of years after Ron was honored in 1997, NCPTW named the award after him, and each year since then NCPTW has selected a recipient (or sometimes co-recipients) for the Ron Maxwell Leadership Award.
Nominations are due July 1, 2021 and should be submitted to Christopher Ervin, Maxwell Award Committee Chair, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Each nomination should include
- a cover sheet listing the name of the nominee with contact information and the name of the nominator(s) with contact information;
- a letter of nomination that clearly indicates why this individual should be so honored and how the individual specifically exemplifies the criteria for this award. Letter is limited to three pages, but may be up to six pages if no additional letters of support are included;
- additional letters of support, no more than two and not longer than two pages each, may accompany the nomination; and
- a “short” curriculum vitae or resume (two pages). (Note that a “short” CV or resume highlights relevant activities and information.)
The full nominations process can be found on the NCPTW website. Please reach out if you have questions about the nominations process.
